We were all born somewhere. We all grew up somewhere. We all have a place that we call "home". Even if (actually, especially if) we ended up moving somewhere else.
Home is home. Some of us never go back. Some of us always go back. But, wherever we are, whenever we think of it, all kinds of stuff comes back to us.

My home is Coventry. So my show is unashamedly about that city, for that reason. But it's really about "home". What it means, what it gives us, what it's like to leave, what stays with you however far away you go, and what it's like to come back.

So, wherever your home, I honestly think there's something here for you. At the very least, I'm going to gently show you why mine is worth your time.

Which is also, by the way, the tone of my show. If you want some ranting, spitting, furious, partisan invective in this increasingly bitterly divided and sub-divided world, then there's plenty to be found elsewhere... But it IS a very long way from *my* trip into what it really means for every human being to go home.

So, wherever home is for you, you're very welcome to join me.

Jamie Firth is a 3rd-generation Coventrian. His parents were economic immigrants from Doncaster and Newcastle who came south looking for a better quality of life. This is his story about growing up in the city he calls "home": all the things he loved about the city he lived in for 30 years, and what he found when he tried to reconnect with them when he returned 15 years later.

Along the way, you'll learn how to drive properly on the city's baffling ring road - and why it has TWICE as many Cathedrals as most other places. You'll hear about naked ladies on horseback, scallop batches, and why (in his opinion anyway) the famous local taxi jingle should be our national anthem.

There’s no politics, no swearing (well, he’ll do his best). No edge. No negativity whatsoever. Just a lovely uplifting hour on a subject we all know something about: home.

Jamie has been performing and directing theatre for 30 years. He's Productions Director at BoonDog Theatre

He's developed and written comedy with many collaborators. He does a lot of silly voices for comedy #content you've probably heard somewhere.

This is (inexplicably) his first solo show and, in it, he'll explain why.
